Hawai`i State Representative Kaniela Ing visits fishpond and Sanctuary

On Sunday, February 22nd, State Representative Kaniela Ing visited our fishpond and the Whale Sanctuary. President, Kimokeo Kapahulehua, and Executive Director, Joylynn Paman, gave the opening oli to welcome him and others to the site. After taking a tour of the Sanctuary’s education center, Kimokeo and Joylynn spoke about Ko`ie`ie Fishpond, our revitalization project, funding and our partnerships with the Hui Malama Loko I`a and the Whale Sanctuary. In addition, Maxx Phillips, Legislative Advisor to Senator Riviere, also visited and voiced her enthusiasm to learn that the next Hui Malama Loko I`a gathering will be held in their district in Kahana, O`ahu.
